Our sheepskins are mulesing-free, water-washable and come from a trusted partner in New Zealand. Only organic substances, such as antibacterial essential oils, have been used to process them. In addition, the lambskins have been protected with a sanitized treatment to ensure no bacteria, fungi or odors develop.
Please note that the rugs are natural products and therefore especially with natural brown color there are color differences between individual rugs (some have more brown and some more grey tones).
Weekly airing and shaking outside recommended
Occasionally gently brush the rug with a thin metal brush or comb
Rinse off any stains under running water
Can be washed by using the 30 Celsius degree wool wash program using a biodegradable Sonett wool and silk washing detergent
Drying preferably outdoors hanging from at least two corners
Do not dry under direct sunshine or close to a heating device

The sheep were kept in outside enclosures and were fed with fresh grass which ensures the high quality of the rugs
Out rugs are especially suited as extra warmth or underlays for babies: a German study has shown strong indicators that the microbiome in the rugs can prevent the baby from developing asthma
The rugs are tanned in Napier New Zealand
The rugs are treated with a method that is organic, chrome-free and no harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde or arsenic are used
The rugs get a permanent hygiene treatment (Sanitized) to ensure no bacteria, fungi or odours develop
Finally, a wash with tea tree and lemon myrtle oils is used to further protect from bacteria and allergens

We purchased a sheep-skin rug to our spring baby. In the hospital she slept well, but at home she was tearful. We put the sheepskin in her cot and sleep returned. In the winter we used the rug both in her pram and bed. Then she moved into a big girl's bed and the sleep disappeared again, but magically returned again with the rug. The rug has been invaluable in our family. Easy to keep clean and always wonderfully soft.
